IRVING, Texas — WKU’s Mary Joiner wrapped her first fall college season with another accolade, as the freshman was named Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week by the league office Wednesday.
Joiner, a Franklin, Ky., native, won her second individual title in five tries this season Tuesday at Mercer’s Idle Hour Collegiate Championship.
Joiner fired a 6-under 66 with eight birdies in Tuesday’s final round to win the crown by three strokes with a 213 total – a new career low for 54 holes.
Her final-round 66 was the lowest individual score by a Lady Topper in several years and bested her previous low score by three strokes.
