BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Incoming Lady Topper recruits Malaka Frank and Whitney Creech have been named Kentucky Region Players of the Year for the 11th and 14th regions, respectively, as announced on Friday.
Frank, who plays for Franklin County, and Creech, who competes for Jenkins, now qualify for spots on the ballot for Miss Kentucky Basketball alongside the other 16 honorees. Current Lady Topper Ivy Brown was named Miss Basketball for the 2013-14 season.
This season, Frank is averaging 8.9 points and 6.8 rebounds in 25 appearances for Franklin County. The Lady Flyers have compiled a 23-4 overall record and a perfect 11-0 mark in play against region foes.
