BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- WKU track and field will send 20 athletes to the NCAA East Preliminary Championships set to begin Thursday, May 26, and last through Saturday, May 29, on in the campus of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville.
Twelve Hilltoppers and eight Lady Toppers have qualified for the three-day preliminary championships as a result of their qualifying marks during the 2016 outdoor season. The Top 12 finishers in each overall event will advance to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon, on June 8-11.
Fresh off their 2016 Conference USA Men’s Outdoor championship performance, the Hilltopper trio of Ventavius Sears, Julius Morris and Kyree King leads the pack for WKU as each athlete has qualified for a pair of events in Jacksonville.
