IRVING, Texas – WKU’s Jenessa Jackson took home her first career Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week honor as announced by the league office Tuesday morning.
The junior was recognized as C-USA’s Female Field Athlete of the Week after turning in a big effort at the Memphis Tiger Invitational, notching a pair of top-five showings in the hammer throw and shot put events.
The Marietta, Georgia, native placed third in the hammer throw with a career-best effort of 56.88 meters. The throw currently ranks first in C-USA and 85th nationally.
