Coming off a career high performance against Louisiana Tech, Western Kentucky senior Deon Yelder was named Tuesday as a John Mackey Tight End of the Week honorable mention.
Yelder had six catches for 54 yards - both career bests – and scored a two-point conversion on a trick play rush in the first quarter.
"I really appreciate the honor and I'm just going to continue to grind and continue to learn from Coach (Ryan) Mahaffey and the other guys in the room with me," Yelder said in a news release. "Playing behind guys who are in the league now who taught me stuff is a big blessing.
