IRVING, Texas – Western Kentucky senior forward Tashia Brown has been named the Conference USA Player of the Week by both the conference office and College Sports Madness and has also been selected as the latter’s High-Major Player of the Week as announced by the organizations on Monday afternoon.
Brown turned in a strong start to the 2017-18 season at this weekend’s Hawkeye Challenge in Iowa City, Iowa, averaging 23 points as the Lady Toppers split a pair of games against then-No. 16 Missouri and Iowa.
WKU picked up its third victory over a ranked team in as many seasons on Friday afternoon as it took down the Tigers, 79-76, and then fell in a tight overtime shootout, 104-97, against the host Hawkeyes on Saturday.
