Fresh of a game where everything came easy, Western Kentucky had to fight to earn a victory on Sunday.
Led by Ivy Brown’s 21 points and career-high 17 rebounds, WKU gave up a large lead after halftime, but fought back in the fourth quarter to defeat College of Charleston 89-76 Sunday afternoon at E.A. Diddle Arena.
The Lady Toppers led by as much as 18 before Charleston took a one-point lead early in the fourth quarter. WKU turned up the intensity defensively by forcing nine turnovers, which it turned into 17 points.
The Lady Toppers had a 9-0 run to regain the lead and hit all six free throw attempts in the last minute to put the game out of reach.
