It’s safe to say Stewart wasn’t a fan of the final call that helped decide the outcome.
The controversial foul call Wednesday came after WKU (6-4) had clawed back from an 11-point second-half deficit. Hilltopper guard Darius Thompson’s basket in the lane with two seconds left tied the game 80-80.
On the ensuing inbounds attempt, Nelson chased the Badgers’ Brevin Pritzl, who was running the baseline under the Wisconsin basket.
Badgers guard Brad Davison snuck to Nelson’s left and forced a collision with the Tops freshman. Both players crashed to the ground.
Davison hit the first foul shot, then missed the second intentionally.
