LOUISVILLE – It didn’t take long for Tyson Helton to find much-needed assistance at linebacker. Western Kentucky was already thin at the position before an injury in the spring brought on more concerns.
Helton hopes the recent additions of two linebackers can help strengthen that group.
The Hilltoppers coach spoke briefly Monday at an alumni event in Louisville about the addition of Malik Staples and Jaden Hunter to a WKU defense replacing both starters from last season.
“I think they’ll add some immediate competition to the linebacker position,” Helton said. “We needed to add depth there.
