Stansbury likes Hilltoppers' chemistry as practice progresses

Getting a team built almost entirely of newcomers to play together isn’t easy.

“The chemistry, I’ve said this many times, it’s easy to put new pieces together if you have good character, good people,” Stansbury said after Hilltopper Hysteria. “We have good people.”

WKU has spent the last two weeks going through the annual grind of October practices. Topper players have worked out at 6 a.m., gone to class for the day, then reconvened on the court in the afternoon for a second, longer practice.

Forward Justin Johnson is the only scholarship player back this season that was eligible to play for the 2016-17 Hilltoppers.
