The former Mississippi State coach arrived at Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport on Sunday afternoon. Media, including the Daily News, gathered at the airport but were kept a significant distance away from the plane arriving from College Station, Texas.
The Daily News later saw the Stansbury family at WKU receiving a campus tour.
Stansbury is expected to finalize his deal to become Western Kentucky's new men's basketball coach and be formally introduced Monday afternoon.
Stansbury, 56, has been on Texas A&M's staff since 2014 and was elevated to associate head coach last year. The Aggies fell 77-63 to Oklahoma on Thursday in the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16.
