BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU softball opened the Holiday Inn Hilltopper Classic by dropping a pair of tough contests Friday afternoon at the WKU Softball Complex. The Lady Toppers opened play with an 8-6 setback against Austin Peay and then fell to Missouri State in the nightcap of the doubleheader, 11-3.

After falling behind 2-0 after a half inning of play, WKU used a three-run first inning, highlighted by a left-field double from Hannah Parker, in order to take its only lead of the game, 3-2.
