BOCA RATON, Fla. – The WKU softball team succumbed to No. 23/24 Florida Atlantic (44-7, 19-2 C-USA) in the series finale Sunday afternoon as the Owls shutout the Lady Toppers, 6-0, at the FAU Softball Stadium.
Four of FAU’s six total runs came off of a pair of two-out RBI doubles in the third and fourth innings respectively. The Owls two additional runs came courtesy of an RBI single in the second and a WKU throwing error in the fifth.
FAU’s ace Kylee Hanson (24-3) earned the victory as the junior had a superb outing in the circle, limiting WKU to one hit while finishing with her NCAA-best 13th shutout on the year.
