Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU softball completed its 2016 season Sunday afternoon as the Lady Toppers couldn’t overcome defensive miscues as Marshall captured the series finale, 10-3, at the WKU Softball Complex.
Marshall (28-25, 13-11 C-USA) jumped out to a quick 5-1 advantage through the first two innings as the Thundering Herd took advantage of four WKU errors. The Lady Toppers run came in the home half of the first off a fielder’s choice RBI from rookie Kelsey McGuffin.
The Lady Toppers sliced into the Thundering Herd’s advantage in the third inning off a two-run home run from Hannah Parker as WKU drew to within two runs, 5-3.
