It’s been 10 years since a Western Kentucky men’s golfer stepped onto the course at an NCAA Regional. Billy Tom Sargent is about to break that dry spell.
Sargent was selected earlier this month as one of five individuals to compete at the Kissimmee (Fla.) Regional, hosted by Central Florida. Play will take place Monday-Wednesday at the Reunion Resort Watson Golf Course.
The individual competitor with the lowest score at next week’s regional will advance to the NCAA Tournament, to take place May 25-30 in Stillwater, Okla.
Sargent will be the first Hilltopper to compete at the NCAA Regionals since Brent Long back in 2008.
