Bac Totrong/Daily NewsD’Andre Ferby’s been an observer at practice the last two weeks. But Mike Sanford hopes the running back will be an active participant when the Hilltoppers take the field for their first game Sept. 2 against Eastern Kentucky.
Ferby sprained an ankle during WKU’s Aug. 12 scrimmage, Sanford said Thursday after practice. The redshirt junior hasn’t practiced this week.
Ferby is projected to be the Toppers’ starter at running back this season.
