Report: Howard to transfer from WKU

Howard played 30 games and started four for WKU in 2016-17, his freshman season. The guard averaged 3.0 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game with 10 steals and two blocks.

Howard scored a season-best 11 points Feb. 11 against Middle Tennessee, knocking down three 3-pointers.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound native of Lithonia, Ga., came to WKU from DME Academy in Daytona Beach, Fla. He signed under former coach Ray Harper before playing his freshman season for Harper's replacement, Rick Stansbury.

Howard's transfer leaves forwards Justin Johnson and Jabari McGhee and guards Tyler Miller and Damari Parris as 2016-17 players currently set to return next season.
