Western Kentucky’s practiced in all sorts of elements through its first two weeks of spring practice.
“We’ve played in sideways snow, we’ve played in 38-mile-an-hour winds, we’ve played in two days’ worth of buckets of rain,” coach Mike Sanford said. “Then today we played in beautiful spring weather.”
The Hilltoppers took advantage of clear skies Saturday by staging an hourlong scrimmage in front of more than 100 recruits in attendance for Junior Day.
Tempers flared before and during the scrimmage, with pushing, shoving and chirping between offensive and defensive players. Sanford was pleased to see his players enthusiastic about the chance to compete in a game-like setting.
