Former Western Kentucky basketball player Cliff Dixon was shot and killed early Thursday morning in Atlanta, police say.
The Chamblee (Ga.) Police Department announced in a news release posted to its Facebook page that it’s investigating the death of Dixon, 32, as a homicide.
The shooting occurred outside SL Lounge on Buford Highway in Atlanta. Dixon posted Wednesday on Instagram that he was going there to celebrate his birthday.
Dixon “had just arrived at the location and was standing in the parking lot when the offender shot him multiple times,” the Chamblee PD release said.
The release stated that Dixon was administered aid by first responders and taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
