The freshman guard went into Western Kentucky’s game Wednesday night against Ohio having scored just 10 points in his young college career. Parris hadn’t appeared in three games, including two of the last three before Wednesday.
But coach Rick Stansbury gave Parris his chance against the Bobcats, and the youngster stepped up in a big way.
Parris scored 14 points in 28 minutes off the bench and hit the game-winning free throw with 1.8 seconds left in a 67-66 win against Ohio at E.A. Diddle Arena.
Parris provided a spark for the Hilltoppers (5-7) to come up with a win they desperately needed.
