SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – Western Kentucky’s men’s basketball team spent a morning of its Costa Rican tour Thursday putting smiles on some local children’s faces.
The Hilltoppers toured the Association of Works for the Holy Spirit, an orphanage in Costa Rica’s capital city of San Jose.
WKU players and program personnel were given a tour of the facility by local church leaders. Every time the Topper players were led into a new room or area, the local children rushed up to greet the players.
“I think today was everybody’s favorite, going to play with those kids,” guard/forward Jared Savage told the Daily News.
