The Lady Toppers went into home games against Middle Tennessee and UAB having struggled on the defensive end most of the last month.
WKU was 3-3 over its previous six games going into the two-game homestand, giving up an average of 77.3 points per game during the period.
The Lady Toppers reversed that trend against the Blue Raiders and Blazers. They shut down a potent MTSU attack in a 62-51 win Thursday at E.A. Diddle Arena, then took care of UAB 64-55 Saturday on senior day.
Those defensive efforts were a sign to coach Michelle Clark-Heard that her team is getting back on track when it comes to playing defense.
