Western Kentucky women’s basketball has built most of its success with homegrown talent. That recruiting approach won’t change under first-year coach Greg Collins, but his newly assembled staff at least gives the Lady Toppers a new opportunity for expansion.
The addition of assistant head coaches Jocelyn Wyatt, Tiffany Porter-Talbert and promotion of Jhasmin Bowen widens the geographic experience and basketball connections on staff. Their experiences stretch from Pennsylvania to California, yet still retain an understanding of sticking to WKU’s roots.
“It helped to broaden our recruiting footprint to extend us a little more northeast and I think Coach Porter is going to help us in California and the southwest,” Collins told the Daily News.
