Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky’s rivalry matchup Thursday night was a display of two teams heading in opposite directions.
The Blue Raiders (23-4 overall, 13-1 Conference USA) have won 11 of their last 13 against the Toppers (12-14, 6-7). MTSU has a two-game lead over second-place Louisiana Tech (19-8, 11-3) with four games left on its regular-season slate.
Meanwhile, WKU has lost two straight at home to fall below .500 in the conference. The Hilltoppers sit tied with UTSA (11-15, 6-7) for eighth in the C-USA standings.
