CHOUDRANT, La. — Billy Tom Sargent put himself in the hunt again for the WKU men’s golf team Monday, leading the Hilltoppers through the first two rounds of Louisiana Tech’s Jim Rivers Intercollegiate.
Sargent, a redshirt sophomore from Georgetown, Ky., continued his hot start to the season with a pair of 70s for a 4-under 140 total in the opening rounds at the par-72, 7,070-yard Squire Creek Country Club.
The reigning Conference USA Co-Golfer of the Week is in second place individually heading into Tuesday’s final round. Sargent is coming off co-medalist honors last week at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate.
