LOXLEY, Ala. — Improvement was the theme of the day Saturday for the WKU men’s golf team, which bettered its team score by 18 strokes across the first two rounds at South Alabama’s Steelwood Collegiate Invitational.
After turning in a 307 total in the first round, the Hilltoppers battled back with a 1-over 289 in the second round at the par-72, 7,096-yard Steelwood Country Club. They’re tied for ninth with a 596 total.
Kennesaw State leads the team competition with a 558 tally.
Sophomore Stuart Easton had the steadiest day for the Hilltoppers and is tied for 28th with a 147 (73-74) total.
