TEXARKANA, Ark. - An even-par 72 pushed freshman Blake Smith into the top 10 on Monday afternoon at the Texarkana Country Club as the Hilltoppers sit 10th on the team leaderboard after 36 holes at the 2016 C-USA Men's Golf Championship.
Through two rounds, WKU is 23-over with a score of 599 (297-302) after tallying a 14-over 302 in Monday's round. UAB, ranked No. 38 by Golfstat, leads Louisiana Tech and Middle Tennessee by six shots heading into the final round of stroke play on Tuesday at three-over 579 (285-294).
Smith's even-par 72 on Monday was tied for the fourth-lowest round in the field of 65 golfers and pushed the freshman up nine spots on the individual leaderboard into a tie for seventh place.
