IRVING, Texas - Senior Trey Aguirre has been tabbed for a spot on the 2016 C-USA Men's Golf All-Academic Team as announced by the conference office Friday morning, the first All-Academic honor of his career.
Aguirre's selection marks the first time that WKU has landed a men's golfer on the C-USA All-Academic Team since joining the conference prior to the 2014-15 campaign.
The Navarre, Fla., native has posted a 74.48 stroke average per round in 2015-16 and has led the WKU card in three of the team's 10 tournaments this year. Aguirre's best finish of the season thus far came at The Grove Intercollegiate in October, where he tied for eighth place on the individual leaderboard after recording a four-over 148 (71-77) in the rain-shortened event.
