Lomomba settling into point guard role

Junior Lomomba found a way of using his natural habits to lead from his new position in Western Kentucky’s double overtime men's basketball victory against Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday night.

Like the challenge of nine newcomers transitioning together with new coach Rick Stansbury, Lomomba is figuring out how to lead the Hilltoppers as a point guard, a new position he’s learning this year.

The graduate senior appeared comfortable using his past experiences as a small forward by driving to the basket early and often in the 103-97 double overtime exhibition victory.

Playing just his second game at the point, Lomomba led WKU with 29 points on 9-of-15 shooting while playing 48 minutes, the most of any player from both teams Saturday night.
