Jordan Mauch’s solo home run in the top of the seventh accounted for WKU’s lone hit and run in Game 1.
Pitcher Kelsey Aikey started and took the loss for the Hilltoppers.
In the second game, WKU (18-15) grabbed a 2-0 lead on RBI singles by Kara Brewer and Brittany Vaughn, but Lipscomb (23-7) plated four unearned runs in the fifth to surge ahead.

Next up, WKU will be traveling to Huntington, W.Va., to play Conference USA rival Marshall for a three-game series. The Hilltoppers and Thundering Herd are slated for a doubleheader on Saturday, with the series wrapping up on Sunday.
