Lady Tops start C-USA play in dominant fashion

Western Kentucky is out to defend a crown. The Lady Toppers started their title defense Saturday with a dominant performance.

WKU led by as much as 32 points and walloped visiting Marshall at home in E.A. Diddle Arena, 81-52.

Five different players scored in double figures as the Lady Toppers won their seventh straight game and improved to 5-0 this season on their home floor.

It was a commanding start to Conference USA play for WKU (10-2 overall, 1-0 C-USA), which swept the league regular-season and tournament championships last year in its first season as a C-USA member.
