Three Western Kentucky players tallied double-digit kills as the Lady Toppers earned a 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 26-24) sweep Friday over UTEP in the Conference USA Volleyball Tournament quarterfinals at Tudor Fieldhouse in Houston.
The win was WKU's 19th straight, the second longest current streak in the NCAA. Overall, the top-seeded Lady Toppers improved to 28-2 overall. No. 8-seeded UTEP closed the 2016 season with an 8-20 record.
“Well, I’m really proud of our kids,” WKU volleyball coach Travis Hudson said in a news release. “Holly’s [Watts] team was really ready to play and she had a great scheme.
