Energy was the keyword for Western Kentucky after its 52-49 win against Rice on Thursday.
Lady Topper players and coach Michelle Clark-Heard all said the team lacked it in that win. They also said they’d need more of it if they wanted to beat North Texas at 2 p.m. Saturday.
“We’ve just got to come out with more energy on Saturday and be ready to play,” sophomore forward Tashia Brown said Thursday.
WKU accomplished its most important task against the Owls. The Lady Toppers (13-2 overall, 4-0 Conference USA) found a way to win, even if they produced their lowest scoring output of the year on their way to that victory.
