Western Kentucky's women's golf team improved by two strokes Monday and maintained fourth place out of 42 teams with one round to go at the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Spring Classic in Kiawah Island, S.C..
The Lady Toppers shot a 3-over 291 as a team Monday at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort for a two-day total of 584. They’re just five strokes back of third-place Jacksonville and six shots back of second-place Murray State. Host College of Charleston leads the field at 567.
The top 22 teams in the tournament – the largest college event in the country – will play for the championship at Osprey Point during Tuesday’s final round, while teams 23-43 will play for a flight championship at Oak Point.
