Lady Tops focus on 'D' with streak behind them

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — For the first time in nearly two months, Western Kentucky lost a game Saturday.

The Lady Toppers’ 14-game winning streak – tied for the fourth-longest in program history – was snapped with an 83-75 loss at Conference USA rival Middle Tennessee.

So after taking its first defeat since Dec. 2, how will WKU regroup from the setback?

“Same way we regrouped before this 14-game winning streak,” coach Michelle Clark-Heard said after the loss at the Murphy Center. “Everyone talks about that, but it’s not about the 14-game win streak.

“It’s about us getting better each and every game because we’re getting ready to head into February now, and you should be playing your best basketball in February.
