Lady Toppers take in significance of playing at UT

One might say women’s basketball was born in Thompson-Boling Arena at the University of Tennessee. Fans and participants might agree it’s the sport’s holy cathedral.

“I watched Tennessee and Kentucky play four or five years ago,” the Jenkins native Creech said. “I think it’s going to be a really cool experience to go in that arena and play there. We’re going to play where some of the greats have played.”

Western Kentucky (24-8) will play on The Summitt when the No. 11 seed Lady Toppers tip off against No. 6 seed Oregon State (23-7) in the first round of the women’s NCAA Tournament on Friday at 11 a.
