Tashia Brown led a balanced offense with 20 points while the team shot an efficient 50 percent (37-73) from the floor. WKU (4-3) had its way with Evansville (2-3) inside with a 46-30 advantage on the glass and outscored the Purple Aces 56-16 in the paint.
Porter’s 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting and seven rebounds highlighted a big night for Lady Toppers' freshmen. Forward Raneem Elgedawy turned in her first career double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds. Elgedawy and Smith were big on the defensive end, with each grabbing four steals.
WKU fought tooth and nail with four Power 5 teams and a tough Georgia State Tournament field last weekend before enjoying an easy night against Evansville.
