Lady Toppers outworked late in tight road loss at No. 8 Louisville

LOUISVILLE – Western Kentucky did everything it needed to beat Louisville for three quarters.

Then the fourth quarter happened and Louisville showed why it’s one of the country’s top 10 teams.

The 8th-ranked Cardinals outscored WKU 24-9 in the fourth quarter, including a 13-0 mark on second-chance points.

WKU (5-4) led by eight to start the fourth quarter, but made just 4-of-14 shots from the field while Louisville worked the paint to shoot 60 percent in the last 10 minutes.

Asia Durr and Myisha Hines-Allen each led Louisville (8-2) with 16 points – both players scored eight points apiece in the fourth quarter.
