After splitting its two-game Texas road trip last week, the Lady Toppers are in a three-way tie for first place atop C-USA with Charlotte and Middle Tennessee. WKU (15-6 overall, 7-2 C-USA) shared first place with only Charlotte going into Saturday, but losses for both teams over the weekend bumped Middle Tennessee into the pack for first place.
UTSA ended the Lady Toppers’ five-game win streak with a 80-77 victory Saturday in San Antonio. Charlotte (15-5, 7-2) was upset at home against Rice, 55-52.
With nine games down and nine to go in the conference schedule, WKU coach Michelle Clark-Heard said this is right where the Lady Toppers want to be.
