Lady Toppers host defending C-USA champs, rival MTSU on Sunday

Any hopes Western Kentucky has of winning a conference championship must first go through Middle Tennessee State.

Michelle Clark-Heard believes her team is piecing together everything it needs to be playing its best basketball by February. That continuing process picks back up when the Lady Toppers host the defending Conference USA champions MTSU at 2 p.m. Sunday in E.A. Diddle Arena (Fox College Sports, WKU PBS).

The unofficial “100 Miles of Hate” pits WKU against its oldest rival in MTSU, a series in which the Lady Raiders have a 41-27 advantage.

WKU (12-5 overall, 4-1 Conference USA) was picked as the preseason favorite to win the league, but that means getting the best of a well-functioning Lady Raiders team sitting alone atop the C-USA standings.
