Western Kentucky showed some home-court jitters early Friday in its Conference USA Tournament opener but the Lady Toppers regained composure and finished strong for a victory.
WKU topped Charlotte 3-1 on Friday afternoon in a first-round C-USA match at E.A. Diddle Arena. The No. 2 seed Lady Tops won the first set 25-14, dropped the second 27-25 then put the No. 7 seed 49ers away with victories in the third set 25-20 and in the fourth 25-6.
That 25-6 tally marked the first time this season WKU held an opponent to single digits in a set.
