The latest victory in Western Kentucky golfer Mary Joiner’s recent hot streak produced her third Conference USA Women’s Golfer of the Week award of the season Wednesday.
Joiner has won the C-USA weekly award in three of the last five weeks. No other women’s golfer in the league has won multiple awards this spring.
The latest honor – the fifth of her career – came after the sophomore’s playoff win last weekend at Eastern Kentucky’s Colonel Classic, her program-record fourth career victory.
After finishing the final round tied with Akron’s Danielle Nicholson with an even-par 144 (70-74) total, Joiner sank a 10-foot downhill birdie putt on the first playoff hole to claim the win.
