Western Kentucky track and field coach Erik Jenkins was honored Friday as the Southeast Region Men’s Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
In his ninth season on The Hill, Jenkins led the Hilltoppers to their second consecutive Conference USA Indoor Championship on Feb. 24-25 in Birmingham, Ala. Paced by standout performances from Emmanuel Dasor and Ventavius Sears, the men’s team captured six events and amassed 135 points to pull off the repeat performance. Following the meet, Jenkins was honored as C-USA’s Men’s Coach of the Year.
