Western Kentucky senior Brooke Holloway had a storybook ending to her second-to-last home game Saturday as the veteran shortstop celebrated senior day with a walk-off, three-run home run that propelled WKU to a 6-4 victory and a split on the day with Marshall.
WKU (17-29 overall, 8-12 Conference USA) didn’t have enough offensive firepower in order to come back from a two-run deficit in the opening 2-1 loss to the Thundering Herd.
After two scoreless innings, Marshall (28-24, 12-11) used three hits and two Lady Topper infield errors in order to plate a pair of runs in the top of the third.
