Hilltoppers turn up the pressure, take down West Virginia

The Hilltoppers forced 22 Mountaineer turnovers, 15 of which came on WKU steals. Even on an off-shooting night, the Toppers rode their high-energy defense to a 63-57 win at the HTC Center.

Josh Anderson, Taveion Hollingsworth and Jared Savage grabbed four steals each for WKU (3-1), which will face Central Florida on Sunday in the tournament title game.

The Hilltoppers shot only 17-53 (32.1 percent) from the floor, but made a living at the foul stripe. WKU was 27-of-34 (79.4 percent) from the free-throw line, making more free throws (27) than WVU attempted (19).

Hollingsworth (13 points), Anderson (12) and Savage (11) all fought through shooting nights of 33 percent or worse to score in double-figures.
