Western Kentucky men's basketball coach Rick Stansbury announced Wednesday the signing of 6-foot-1 guard Jeremiah Gambrell to a national letter of intent in the 2018 class.

“We’re excited to have Jeremiah join our basketball program,” Stansbury said in a news release. “He’s a terrific person from a great family and brings a lot of versatility and ability to shoot the basketball.”

Gambrell, a Houston native, averaged 20 points per game as a junior for Madison High School. He was named the most valuable player of District 24-5A and a TABC all-state selection.

Known for his ability to score in a variety of ways, including a strong 3-point touch, Gambrell also averaged 20 points per game as a sophomore and 15 points as a freshman.
