Four weeks into preseason practice, Western Kentucky players have seen enough of each other. They’re ready to take the floor against someone else.
WKU will travel south to Birmingham, Ala., and face Samford in a rare Division I exhibition game. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. from the Bulldogs’ Pete Hanna Center.
“Right now, we’re kind of tired of playing each other and seeing each other every day,” guard Darius Thompson said Friday during WKU’s annual Media Day at E.A. Diddle Arena. “We’re trying to beat up on someone else for once.
“So I think it’s going to be a huge game for us on Sunday and definitely for the young guys, getting their first true college experience.
