Middle Tennessee’s offensive strategy in its Jan. 20 meeting with Western Kentucky was to bleed the shot clock and let Nick King go to work late in possessions.
It’s safe to say that tactic worked. King scored a game-high 29 points that day in a 66-62 Blue Raider win in E.A. Diddle Arena.
WKU (22-7, 14-2 Conference USA) and MTSU (23-5, 15-1) will meet for the second time this season Thursday in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. from the Murphy Center.
“King scored 20 points with 10 seconds or less on the shot clock,” Stansbury said Monday on his weekly radio show.
