Two games into the 2017 season, Western Kentucky already has the chance to cross a major goal off its board.
One of the Hilltoppers’ five primary objectives is to take down an opponent from a Power Five conference each season. WKU has two chances to do so this season: a Nov. 4 road game at Vanderbilt and a date Saturday at Illinois.
The Toppers are 7½-point favorites for the 7 p.m. matchup Saturday with the Fighting Illini. Big Ten Network will have the broadcast live from Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Ill.
“We love these types of games,” linebacker Joel Iyiegbuniwe told the Daily News this week.
