The Hilltoppers trailed by double digits most of the way at Ohio before scrambling in the final minutes. The Bobcats held off a late WKU rally and pulled out an 89-84 win at the Convocation Center. Guard Mike Laster scored a game-high 23 points for the Bobcats (5-4), who snapped a four-game winning streak by the Toppers (6-3).
WKU played Sunday without what coach Rick Stansbury likes to call “that edge.” The Hilltoppers posted more turnovers (11) than assists (10), allowed Ohio to take 35 free throws and lost despite finishing with 32 made field goals to the Bobcats’ 26.
